This post is all about how to browse Safari like an expert and take charge of your Internet browsing experience! We’ll also share how you can pause those annoying GIFs.

How to Browse Safari Like an Expert

1.) How to stop those annoying animated GIF images.  The solution is simple.  All you have to do is hold down the Escape key and all the animation will stop.  The same procedure will also work in Firefox.

2.) How to open a file in the Safari Download pop-up.  Open the Safari Download pop-up by clicking on the button in the upper right corner of your browser window, and then double click the file icon. This will open the file.

3.) How to file’s URL in the Safari Download pop-up. Open the Safari Download pop-up by clicking the button in the upper right corner of your browser screen. Select the file and press Command-C. You have now copied the file’s URL.

4.) You don’t have to type the full URL into the address bar in Safari.  Similar to Google Chrome, in Safari, you can type in a website name in the Address Bar and .com will be added automatically.  Please note this only works with .com addresses.

5.) Website folder structure simplified. When viewing website pages, all you need to do is right-click the page title to reveal the website folder structure. This feature is great when you’re browsing deep within multiple levels of website directories.

6.) How to bookmark your favorite websites with an icon to your home screen on your iPhone or iPod Touch.  Open the website you wish to bookmark and press the + sign.  Select “Add to Home Screen” and create a name for the bookmark. Press Add.
