Quick and Easy iPad Tricks
How to Add Customized Words to The iPad Dictionary Via Keyboard Shortcuts
This is a great tip if you have to type in last names and other pesky words that are not included in the dictionary on your iPad. Adding words is very easy via keyboard shortcuts. Go to Settings on your iPad, tap General, tap Keyboard and then tap Add New Shortcut. Simply type in the word you wish to add to the iPad Dictionary and leave the Shortcut field blank. Easy!
How to Make Your iPad Speak
This tip is all about how to make your iPad speak certain phrases. When editing text in a iPad document or note, we all know about the standard editing features that are included: Copy, Select All and Define. You can add the option to Speak to this list. First, go to Settings, then General and then Accessibility. From here, select Speak Selection from the list at upper portion of the screen. You can also adjust the speaking rate. We suggest a rate closer to the lower end.
How to Set up a Home Page on your iPad Safari Browser
We all know how to set up home pages on our trusty Mac computers. We recently got asked by a customer if the same thing was possible with an iPad, and the answer is Yes! The following instructions will show you how to set up a home page on an iPad when you first open your Safari Browser. Launch the Safari browser and go to the page you want to use as your home page. Tap the arrow at the top of the screen, next to the address bar and select Add to Home Page. This will put a shortcut on the home screen of your iPad and when you click on it, you will always be met with that website. There is no real way to set a home page when you first open the Safari browser icon itself but this is a quick work-around.
We hope you enjoyed our 3 quick and easy iPad tricks to make your life easier. Our D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices are always investigating new ways you can be more efficient with your iPad.
