The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is hands down, the largest consumer technology conference in the world. It’s taking place from January 10 – 13, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rest assured, this isn’t the lame conference you try and get of attending each year. This is the conference of the year where you get to see the latest and greatest in technology from big names such as Nokia, Samsung, LG and more. Over 100,000 people attend every year – you know it’s going to be good. It’s like Disneyworld for Tech Geeks like us! iHospital’s founder and D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices Ross Newman will also be attending – come say hello if you see him! Here are 3 sure-fire reasons you must attend CES 2012 this year!
1.) Cutting edge technology. CES 2012 is promising to be one of the most incredible conferences to date when it comes to advancements in consumer technology. You can expect to see 20 – 40 more tablet models (especially since the runaway success of Apple’s iPad), telematics, location-based services, digital cameras, high-end digital audio, augmented reality on most mobile platforms, green technology and plenty of pre-announcements. Overall, if you want to be “in the know” about the most innovative technology known to man, you must attend CES 2012.
2.) Events aka Parties. What would a conference be without the receptions, parties and events? This is what makes CES so much fun. You can find a full list of events on the CES 2012 website here. They include ESPN 3D events, keynote addresses, the MashBash (my personal favorite) and tweetups. My personal favorite is the Official CES Closing Party taking places on January 13, 2012 from 10 – 11 p.m. at The TAO Nightclub at The Venetian. As always, this is 21+ club and you must wear your CES badge for admittance.
3.) Las Vegas! CES 2012 is going to be awesome because it’s in Las Vegas! The conference will keep you busy but you should definitely visit some of the local attractions including the Hoover Dam, golf courses, pools, spas and more. Try and book a couple extra days to your trip so you can see as much as possible. Las Vegas is a lot more than just night clubs and casinos!
Overall, you should definitely plan to attend the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 if you can get away from work for a couple days. You will see all of the latest and greatest in consumer technology, attend some amazing events and soak up some sunshine in amazing Las Vegas. We look forward to seeing you there!
