Apple Will Webcast Second-Quarter Earnings

Written by iHospital. Posted in iHospital iV

If you’re an Apple and Mac fan, and want to know how the company’s been doing in terms of sales, then you might want to tune into the company’s second-quarter earnings call that will be webcast this Tuesday April 23, at 5pm ET/2pm PT.

To tune into the webcast you’ll have to click on this link Tuesday and make sure that whatever Apple device you’re streaming from is running iOS 4.2 or higher, and if you plan to stream the webcast from your Mac computer that it’s currently operating on OS X 10.5 or higher. If you happen to find yourself streaming from a PC powered computer for whatever reason then it’s best to do so using QuickTime 7 or above. Also, if you’re on a PC computer why not make your way to a nearby iHospital location and talk to one of our D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices about switching over to a Mac computer; but that’s a story for another day.

Back to the Apple second-quarter earnings call; many Apple enthusiasts and industry insiders are awaiting the call because everyone is interested to see how sales have been over the past quarter when it comes to iPhones and especially the new iPad. The release of the new iPad led to strong sales its first weekend out but how has Apple been able to maintain that first monster weekend of sales?

Just how many new iPads ended up being sold beyond those initial three million during opening weekend and is the trend in new iPad sales going upwards? Those questions and more in regards to the new iPad will be answered during Apple’s second-quarter earnings call on Tuesday.

On the iPhone side of things we might be in for something entirely unexpected because of recent reports stating that iPhone sales in some parts of the country have been slipping. In the previous quarter things were going gangbusters for Apple, as they sold a record setting 37 million iPhones. That was then and this is now.  Verizon recently came out and said that their sales of iPhones have dropped by 24%. That’s not a number Apple probably enjoyed hearing, but might be something they’ll have to deal with as more and more smartphone customers look towards purchasing LTE-enabled smartphones.

While Apple sees those numbers and knows they need to come up with a new iPhone that comes equipped with the LTE speed networking standard that might not happen until the fall.

So, tune into the webcast on Tuesday to find out the current state of the iPhone and iPad to see just what Apple has to say about their products. Then make your way to your nearest iHospital location to chat about the webcast results with our D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices; we’ll be waiting on your arrival!
