Everything You Need to Know About the New iPad Adobe Photo Apps!

Written by iHospital. Posted in iHospital iV

Adobe Systems Inc. is launching its iPad Adobe Photo App, Photoshop Touch, today to mark the start of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.  Photoshop Touch will include features for combining images, applying photo effects to create printed pages and websites, work in layers, extract parts of an image, and refine work imported from your desktop Photoshop program.  The new app will sell for $9.99 in Apple’s iTunes App Store. It runs on the iPad 2 and is compatible with iOS 5.  Check out some of the advanced editing tools in Macworld’s article, Photoshop Touch App Arrives for the iPad.

Adobe previously released another neat application called Adobe Ideas.  Our very own Nikesh Patel, who works at iHospital North Tampa, recently reviewed Adobe Ideas and gave it the coveted 4iV’s score! You should definitely check it out!

Ultimately, Photoshop Touch will be cloud based and will work in conjunction with Creative Cloud.  This is expect to arrive early in the summer of 2012.  In the meantime, you can produce and edit your work on the iPad app and email, post and/or sync your work with your personal computer.

Adobe leads the market in graphic-design software, and they are moving away from personal-computer software and transitioning to web-based and tablet-based versions.  This is a very good idea on Adobe’s part; we previously wrote about how Apple sold more iPads last year than Hewlett Packard sold PC’s, check out More Juicy iPad 3 Rumors! for the full article.

Adobe is also adapting some of its products to the immensely popular HTML 5 programming language and cloud-computing software, moving away from Adobe’s older Flash technology.  As we all know, Apple devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and iPod aren’t compatible with Flash so this is also great news!

Along with the new iPad Adobe Photo App, Adobe launched a test a version of Air software that lets Flash developers create applications running on Apple’s iOS operating systems (Android too).
