Path

PathEvery Tuesday and Thursday our expert D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices review and rate Apple applications, accessories and more.  Items are rated from 1 to 5 IV’s (5 being the highest possible score).  If the item is a total waste of time and money we’ll give it the dreaded bedpan score of zero.

iPhone Application Path – Free – Score: 4 IV’s

What is Path?

It’s a great new social network that keeps you connected to your friends and share your Path throughout the day. Its similar to Facebook but has a completely different layout that makes it new and exciting. Its also very user friendly so when you jump into it that first time you don’t feel lost.  Path isn’t trying to be like every other social network out there – instead of cramming in a bunch of applications they’ve simplified social networking so that you might as well be sending picture texts to friends.

What types of information can you share on Path?

Path is the smart journal that helps users share life — status updates, pictures, music, their location, who they’re with and even when they wake up and sleep – all in high quality pictures and videos.  Path is synced with Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, and Facebook, you can easily check-in, upload photos and videos, blog, and tweet directly from Path.

What is the downside of Path?

The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t write on someone else path. You can only comment on something that the path user posts.

What type of people would enjoy Path?

Path is for people with smaller social networks as it only allows up to 50 friends.  It doesn’t include games or other applications so it’s for those that enjoy bare bones social networking.

Where you can purchase Path?

Path is a free download available in the App Store.
