What is Lo-mob?

Today we’re doing a Lo-mob review. Lo-Mob is a photo application that allows users to experiment with different vintage filters reminiscent of analog cameras.

What did you like about it?

This is a pretty amazing application that comes with almost 40 retro picture filters.  If you’re a big fan of old-school effects and Instagram, you’ll definitely fall in love with Lo-mob.

best free apps Nothing quite beats the feeling of downloading a free app for your iPhone that you come to know and love. Seriously, where else can you get anything for free? Free apps definitely beat dirty couches on the side of the road, that’s for sure.  Our knowledgeable D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices created the following list of 9 essential and free apps for your iPhone:

1.  Facebook - This free app is essential for the 900 million+ people that currently use Facebook. Facebook for iPhone lets you keep in touch with all your friends while you’re on the go. You can start a chat, check out the news feed, browser pictures, check in and upload pictures – all from the ease of your iPhone.

2.  Twitter - The Twitter app enables users to follow their interests, get quick updates from friends and their favorite celebrities, and most importantly, see what’s happening around the world. This free app keeps getting better and better.

3.  Skype - This free app allows you to make video calls (and regular calls) to anyone else on Skype for free – worldwide. You can also text your Skype contacts.

Unless you live under a rock, you know the 2012 Worldwide Developers Conference took place in San Francisco last week.  Check out our post, WWDC 2012 Highlights, for some of the neat things Apple announced to the world.  Some of these updates included an updated MacBook line, more Mountain Lion features, iOS6, and a new and improved version of Siri.  As always, Apple fans were thoroughly impressed with everything that Apple brought to the table. One of our favorite pastimes here at iHospital is uploading and checking photos on Instagram.  Check out some of our recent pics here.

Guess who’s jumping on the free photo sharing bandwagon? That’s right, Twitpic! They officially launched the official Twitpic free app for iPhone today according to their blog. The android version should be released within the month, but we’re not too concerned about that right?

MacRumors is already comparing Twitpic to Instagram and we wanted to provide you with an official breakdown of the similarities and differences.  It’s tough to compete with Instagram as they were recently acquired for a billion dollars by social media behemoth Facebook, but you never know what can happen right? Did you know that Android is bragging about 2,000 Instagram App signups per minute right now? They’ve had over 1 million signups in the past 24 hours! For those fraction of people that don’t know what Instagram is, let me explain. Instagram is this nifty photo application that was only available on our beloved Apple platform up until yesterday.  According to Instagram’s website, it’s a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family.  We are confident that you already knew this but I felt the need to post just in case! 

In light of all the Instagram news blasting across the airwaves, D.i.D. Doctor of iDevices, Ross Newman, is sharing his top 15 things you need to know about Instagram right now! Here we go:

1.) Are you interested in discussing the latest Instagram Android vs. Apple Instagram news with fellow fans? There are Instagram Meetups called InstaMeets that take place all over the nation! Go to meetup.com/instagram and find a meeting near you.
