iPhone and iPad Application: Mint Personal Finance – Cost: Free – Score: 4 IV’s
What is the Mint Personal Finance application?
This is an app that helps you gain a better grasp of your financial habits. (We all need this right?). It’s been named the Best Finance App by the 1st Annual App Awards and TIME Magazine’s 50 Best iPhone Apps of 2011.
Some of the features include:
- track your available Balances from any type of accounts or investments.
- categorize your purchases by different budgetary sections.
- remind you when a bill is due
- provide advise about your spending habits
- assist with making a monthly budget
This app is the partner app to the website, Mint.com.
What did you like about it?
I definitely liked the cost – Free! Additionally, it’s simple to navigate and easy to use. Overall, this app creates well designed spreadsheets, collects your account information from almost any bank, and creates custom alerts about account activity. My favorite feature is the ability to create custom goals, like getting out of credit card debt! This app will definitely help you manage your money.
What didn’t you like?
I don’t like sharing my financial information with apps like this. However, Mint.com has plenty of accolades to back up it including password protection. Rest assured, nobody will know about your obsession with purchasing Apple products! It would also be nice to be able to add bank accounts or edit budgets from the mobile app – right now you can’t do that.
