Apple announced a new lineup of iPhones and Apple Watch Series 4 at its “Gathered Round” Event on September 12, 2018. Apple Watch Series 4, iPhone Xs, and iPhone Xs Max are available to pre-order on September 14, 2018 and will ship the following Friday, September 24, 2018.


The new iPhone Xs/Xs Max have a familiar design scheme to the iPhone X and boast batter battery life, faster processing power, and more powerful and intelligent cameras. iPhone XS keeps the 5.8-inch OLED Super Retina Display while the iPhone Xs Max has the biggest iPhone screen to date at 6.5-inches. Both are available in Silver, Space Gray, or Gold Stainless Steel finishes.

iPhone XR will be available to pre-order on October 19, 2018 and will ship the following Friday, October 26, 2018. It has an all-new Liquid Retina LCD that is comparable in size to the 6.1-inch iPhone 8 Plus Display. iPhone XR shares the same A12 Bionic processor, and FaceID camera as the iPhone Xs and Xs Max and comes in an aluminum housing available in White, Black, Blue, Yellow, Coral, and (Product)Red.


iPhone Xs starts at $999 – (64GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage options).

iPhone Xs Max starts at $1099 – (64GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage options).

iPhone XR starts at $749 – (64GB, 128GB, or 256GB storage options).

Apple Watch

The new Apple Watch Series 4 was also announced at the Friday Event. The Watch has a new but familiar design, now with 40mm and 44mm sizing options. Better battery life and the edge to edge display is 30% larger than previous Series. The Series 4 also has built in heart rate monitoring and fall detection. The Watch comes in Silver, Space Gray, and Gold Aluminum Sport, and Stainless Steel, Gold Stainless Steel, and Space Black Stainless Steel. Previous generation Apple Watch Bands are fully compatible with the new Apple Watch Series 4!


Sport Aluminum starts at $399 (GPS or GPS + Cellular options available).

Stainless Steel starts at $699 (GPS + Cellular option only).

iOS and watchOS

iOS 12 and watchOS 5 will be available as a free upgrade on September 17, 2018. All devices currently capable of running iOS 11 will be eligible to upgrade to 12. Apple Watch Series 2 and later will be eligible to upgrade to watchOS 5. Read more about upgrading to iOS 12.
